What happens when your domain expires?

When a domain expires, it becomes inactive immediately, displaying a parking page, and all services associated with it, such as a website and/or email, stop working. While the domain is expired, it is not possible to make any changes to it. Under your list of Expired Domains, the domain will remain available for reactivation at your regular domain rate.

Many TLDs currently have a non-guaranteed 29-day grace period for renewal. Grace periods are governed differently by each registry. There is no set grace period. When a domain name expires, it can be disposed of at any time under the terms of the registration agreement. The domain may enter a Redemption Grace Period after the grace period expires.

"Redemption Grace Period" or RGP, is the grace period provided after the registrar has issued a delete request to the registry. Only the previous registrant can recover the domain during this time, and it must be retrieved through the previous registrar. The Redemption Grace Period is named differently for some TLDs
